Karim Djebali

Born in France, Karim Djebali graduated from the Dental School of Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, where he also completed a Master of Research (MRes) degree in Digestive Health and Nutrition. During his studies, Karim undertook several research internships in the United States, where he had the opportunity to investigate how the immune system interacts with commensal bacteria or with dysbiosis-related pathologies. After completing his MRes in 2019, Karim worked as a dental practitioner for two years. All these experiences have driven him to pursue his scientific education to become a clinician-scientist. In 2021, Karim left Toulouse for London, where he joined the UCL Birkbeck MRC DTP, which will be a fabulous stepping stone towards building the career of his dream.
