Francesca Puletti: Exploring astrocyte-synapse interactions in health and neurodegenerative disease

During my MRC-funded PhD at the UCL UK Dementia Research Institute, I have recently published two first-author articles exploring the emerging roles of astrocytes in brain function and neurodegenerative disease. My work focuses on understanding how astrocytes interact with synapses and how disruption of these interactions may contribute to early synaptic dysfunction, particularly in ageing and Alzheimer’s disease.
