Students and Researchers Come Together for the UCL Birkbeck MRC DTP Annual Retreat 2026

The UCL Birkbeck MRC DTP Annual Retreat 2026 brought together students, academics, and professional speakers for two inspiring days of learning, collaboration, and community building at The Lensbury Resort in Teddington. 

The retreat was an opportunity for doctoral researchers to showcase their work through three-minute presentations and a poster session, while also developing valuable professional skills through interactive workshops on presentation techniques, podcasting, and storytelling. 

Attendees gained insights into the wider impact of research through talks exploring careers at the intersection of academia, policy, and industry, and enjoyed a range of networking and social activities, including a pub quiz, group discussions, and informal evening events. 

The retreat concluded with awards and celebrations, leaving attendees with new skills, fresh perspectives, and stronger connections across the UCL Birkbeck MRC DTP community.
